Carmel Highlands House

Perched among the Monterey Pines of the Carmel Highlands, this 3,400 square foot home fits naturally into the site. The warmth of wood siding echoes the verticality of the trees while an expansive outdoor deck gestures toward the ocean views. A generous gourmet kitchen lies at the heart of this open plan concept where family gatherings and entertaining can seamlessly flow between indoor and outdoor spaces. Skylit roofs provide soft daylighting during even the foggiest days, reducing the need for electrical illumination. The skylights emphasize a “pavilion” effect where the main forms of the buildings are connected together with light from the roof above.
