STUDIO CARVER ARCHITECTS SEEKS ARCHITECT IN TRAINING
We are looking for a dynamic and highly-motivated architect in training to contribute to design and production at Studio Carver Architects.
Studio Carver is a fast-paced and demanding hands-on studio environment. We specialize in custom building design, green, LEED certifiable sustainable architecture, interior design, historic preservation, restoration and rehabilitation, land-use and coastal planning, and assisting in real estate due diligence research and feasibility studies.
JOB DESCRIPTION – AIA UNLICENSED ARCHITECTURE/DESIGN STAFF 1:
Five or more years of experience, unlicensed design professional who exercises independent judgment in evaluation, selection and use of standard techniques, solves problems when encountered and receives guidance on complex projects.
Unlicensed design professional who is competent in all conventional aspects of architecture. Performs work requiring independent judgment in evaluation, selection, and adaptation/modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. Independently solves problems encountered. Receives technical guidance on unusual or complex issues and supervisory approval on proposed project plans.
Candidates must demonstrate effective technical abilities, strong design sense, and genuine intellectual curiosity. Successful candidates will have experience in the preparation of design and construction documents, and demonstrate proficiency with design and presentation software. Knowledge of 3D modeling is essential, and a high level of proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite is required.
Familiarity with Sketchup, 3DS Max and other rendering programs is a plus. Professional work experience in competitions and conceptual design is also a plus.
Candidates must be open-minded and willing to adapt their design thinking to the varied locations, programs, and clients that our projects encompass. Candidates must feel confident in a complex, dynamic environment and should be able to work independently and multitask on competitions and construction document packages.
Candidates must also display effective communication, organizational skills, and willingness to learn. Superior problem defining and solving skills are required, as well as strong time management abilities, and a high level of attention to detail.
